Opening of the Grand Theatre and Best Masked Costume Contest

The Grand Theatre in St Mark’s Square hosts the most beautiful mask parades of the Venice Carnival.

The Grand Theatre in St Mark’s Square is the big stage set up from on the occasion of the Venice Carnival. Every morning, from 11.00am, and afternoon, from 03.00pm, a wide program of shows, parades, concerts will take place on the Grand Theatre.

The Best Masked Costume Contest, every morning and afternoon, is the most beautiful masked costume parade of the Venice Carnival. The competitors parade on stage, defying each other with fantasy break and costumes, masks and wigs, feathers and caps.

During the parades, street artists, masked groups and traditional dancers will perform on the stage of the Grand Theatre, making the daily contest full of emotions, colors and surprise!

For the audience of the Grand Theatre an espresso will be served

Book your seat on the parterre for the full interaction with the show and a direct contact with masks, actors and performers.

The parterre presents tables and seats. For every visitors is included a free drink and finger food. The audience of the parterre will choose the winner of the contest “The most beautiful masked costume”.

Book your seat on the theatre boxes for the amazing view of the show and the crowded St. Mark’s Square with the “Basilica” in the background. The theatre boxes are heated and represent the most comfortable and exclusive area of the Grand Theatre.
