“VENICE AND THE LAGOON ISLANDS: BURANO, MURANO AND TORCELLO”

Welcome to the romantic City of Venice, the only one place in the world where water and sky mix together finding no boundary. It’s a city of captains, seamen, adventures, set in the magic atmosphere in which the biggest painters, musicians and poets expressed their arts. Welcome to the narrow streets called “calli”, the small squares called “campi” or “campielli”, the canals: 118 islands, more than four hundreds bridges and …as many cats!!!

08.15 am: boarding on the motor-ship at the landing-stage in Fusina (Ve). Navigation along Vittorio Emanuele III Canal to the Giudecca Canal. Entering the Giudecca Canal you will admire some of the most beautiful churches of Venice, among them: The Redeemer’s Church, The Church of the Spinters, St. George and the impressive Basilica of St. Mary of the Health.

St. Mark’s basin will capture you with its masterpieces: St. Mark’s Square, the famous bell tower, the Palace of the Doges, the Bridge of sighs and the beautiful catwalk Riva Sette Martiri that leads to the Elena’s Gardens. We will navigate in front of the Arsenal, the symbol of the military power of the Venetian Republic “La Serenissima” since the age of the crusades.

Arrival on BURANO island and free visit of this charming little village of seamen and fishermen, dominated by pretty brightly-coloured houses and very famous all over the world for its lace.

Arrival on TORCELLO Island, the old Torricellum (small tower) situated among sandbanks and bog grass. Stop in Torcello and optional visit of the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta (ticket € 5,00 p.p.) that keeps ancient mosaics of the Venetian-Byzantine School dating back to the 12th and 13th century; close to the cathedral we can admire the Martyrium of Santa Fosca, a Christian martyr of the 3rdcentury.

1.00 pm: our bord kitchen will serve you a typical venetian lunch based on fish with the following menù: aperitif: Bellini, hors-d’ouvre: shrimps and pickled anchovies, first course: Fusilli alla Marinara (pasta with seafood), main course: mixed fried fish, vegetables in season, wine and water, fruit, coffee, cover and service.

After the lunch we will reach MURANO: the island of the glass. We will have the extraordinary possibility to live this ancient art of glassmaking looking at one glass master while creating some objects in front of our eyes.

05.30 pm: Arrival in Fusina (Ve), disembarkation and end of the services

PRICES:

INDIVIDUALS   65,00 € per person –

GROUPS  58,00 € per person (minimum 45 passengers).

The price includes: navigation, lunch on board and our tour leader.

The price doesn’t include: tickets and everything not mentioned in the programme.

Children: 0/5 years old are free – 6/12 years old 35,00 € p.p.

BUS LIMITED TRAFFIC ZONE (ZTL VENEZIA) – BUS FEES: we can give the quotation.

Entrance fees must be paid on spot.

GENERAL BOOKING CONDITIONS

Our excursions are not line services; for this reason booking is necessary and can be made or in person or in writing per fax or e-mail.

At the confirmation you have to pay 25% earnest on the entire amount and this sum will be deducted as penalty if the renouncement is not transmitted within 60 days before the departure; the rest has to be paid a week before the excursion, otherwise you’ll have to pay all the seats you booked before.

The acceptance of the reservation depends on the availability of the seats and is closed through written confirmation and payment of the estimated amount. Delta Tour can anyway release the contract without compensation for damages if there isn’t the minimum number of passengers provided in our programmes (min. 45 passengers).

The seats on board are not numbered.

Animals are allowed to travel on board only if they’re in cage. Luggage must be as big as a handybag.

The Company is not responsible for the objects you leave on board during the stops.

Revocations:

In case that our boats can’t leave because of technical problems such as damage, particular hydrometric conditions of the river and any case owing to a cause beyond control, the Company has got the right to cancel the outstanding reservations and to fix an other date by mutual consent or the Company will refund the costs of the prepaid excursion.

The Company is not responsible for unexpected closing of the villas, the churches and the places mentioned in our programme and for delays or interruptions or problems that are imputable to the public service for bridges and locks or for unexpected ordinances closing the navigation.

In case of renouncement we foresee the following penalties: 50% of the amount if the renouncement is transmitted within 15 days before the excursion; the entire amount of the excursion after these terms or if the group doesn’t arrive.

The National and International Arbitral Court of Justice of Venice is competent to deal with controversies.

Alterations:

In captain’s unobjectionable judgment the excursions can undergo some alterations because of particular environment conditions or circumstances that happen during the cruise.

Warranty:

According to the law every passenger on board of the motorboats The Company is insured against travel risks.
